MCC Foundations

Who are these classes for? The MCC Foundations courses are created for people seeking deeper engagement or considering membership at Middleton Community Church. However, they are also open to and encouraged for long-time MCCers wishing to better articulate their understanding of progressive Christian life.

MCC 101: God is Still Speaking | Sept 29 | 7:00-8:30 PM  
Our faith may be 2000 years old, but our thinking is not. In this MCC Foundations class we'll explore what it means to proclaim that "God is still speaking..."
We believe in God’s continuing testament. This is why we are committed to hearing God’s ancient story anew and afresh in our lives and in the world today. We try to remain attentive to God’s creative movement in the world. Religion and science are not mutually exclusive, and your head and heart are both welcome here. Why? MCC 102: No Matter Who You Are | Oct 13 | 7:00-8:30 PM (Click to register)
No matter who you are or where you are on life’s journey, you are welcome here.
We believe in extravagant welcome. This is why we insist that God’s communion table is open, not closed, and God’s gifts and claims in baptism are irrevocable. We advocate justice for all. Our congregations extend hospitality as a sign of God’s inclusive love. Our perspective is global, not provincial. We work alongside people of other faiths. Why? Because God is still speaking,

It doesn’t matter if you believe the same things as the person next to you - what matters is that you both show up in love. 

We believe the Church’s mission is to change lives—individually, systemically, and globally. We work to make transformation possible, but trust in God’s grace. This is why we strive to be churches with vitality in worship, learning, and advocacy. We are committed to working for justice, and we believe that lives are changed through experiences and friendships. These are the things that keep us together, united in our differences.  Why? MCC 201: Membership Orientation | Nov 10 | 7:00-8:30 PM (Click to register)
*This is the only required class for church membership, however people interested in joining MCC are highly encouraged to attend the others when they can. New Members will be welcomed into covenant with MCC on Sunday, November 22nd.
