MCC Forward Garden Work Crew

MCC volunteers help garden at Madison Area Food Pantry Garden's (MAFPG) Forward Garden at the Pope Farm Homestead on Old Sauk Road. Regular activities during the growing season include planting, weeding, and harvesting produce.

If you are interested in MAFPG's mission, but can't or don't want to garden, there are other opportunities to be involved, from marketing to event planning/execution, from equipment maintenance to building projects. MAFPG also needs drivers to deliver produce to area food pantries and meal kitchens, or to pick up compost buckets.

Meets: 2 Saturdays per month from late May - early October; public work sessions are also available Tues & Thur evenings or Wed mornings during this time, also. If you're interested in working on special non-gardening projects around the farm, please reach out!

Church members attending Tuesday Night Fellowship.

Tuesday Night Fellowship

Tuesday Night Fellowship meets to discuss various topics and share our experiences. We might read and study a book, scripture or an article. We may watch and discuss a TED talk or other videos. The group picks the topic. We usually meet in person, but have the ability to meet in hybrid style using Zoom or Google Meet. We begin with a half hour of fellowship and a shared meal. Participants take turns providing a portion of the meal, usually soup, bread, beverage and dessert. Then we discuss our topic, followed by more fellowship while doing the dishes.

Gathering Room
Meal: 6:00 pm
Discussion: 6:30 - 7:30 pm

Mindfulness Group

Our Mindfulness Group is open to all members of the larger community. The purpose of our gatherings is to explore the practices of mindful living and apply them to our everyday lives. At each get-together, we share our own experiences, discuss books, readings, TED talks or other forms of learning, and finish with some meditation. We explore topics like loving kindness, self-compassion, the commonalities within Christianity and eastern religions, and mind-body connections. Sometimes we have guests who lead us in meditation or some mindful movement, like Yoga or Qigong. Most of all, we gather to share and enjoy each others' company.
